It’s also smaller than Red King Crab. Just as versatile and delectable, Brown King Crab is a specialty fishery that provides a more economical alternative to Red King Crab, but the crab is processed in the exact way and in the same plant as all our Alaska crab. The season opens August 1st and runs through May. Most of the deliveries hit the dock around late August through mid-November. We offer two size grades, clusters weighing 17 to 25 ounces and clusters weighing 25 to 32 ounces each. We offer fresh cooked during the season, when possible, and frozen year-round. Season opens October 15th and runs through May. Claws are graded for clean shell appearance, meat fill and size. Cooked in the late afternoon and evening, then chilled, packed and shipped the following day for overnight delivery. We offer the following sizes of claws. Medium – 6 to 7 claws per pound; Large – 4 to 5 claws per pound; Jumbo – 2 to 3 claws per pound. You’ll be amazed at the sweet flavor and succulent texture of crab that is processed properly. Crabs are delivered live to our shore-based processing partner where they are butchered into clusters, graded for clean shell, cooked, chilled, brine frozen and packed. And this is how we sell our crab! We don’t do any secondary processing! Once the crab is processed and packed, the next set of hands that touches the crab is the customer’s. This is why we provide 100% traceability!
